    Help a newbie out?

    Hi everyone.

This is my first time posting here so please forgive me if i put this in the wrong area and ask potentially silly questions but here i go.

I'm a Wellington based young person who is looking to get into hunting, I'm a chef and during my time working as one my interest in hunting has grown alot.
only problem is i don't know where to start, are there any clubs or groups in Wellington that take newbies such as myself? i am a scout leader and have alot of bush experience but i have never done anything like this.

    thankyou

You can join the Wellington Branch of the NZDA.

New Zealand Deerstalkers' Association - Promoting safe and responsible deer hunting, wildlife photography and the outdoors since 1937.

    Complete their Hunts course.

Join them on a couple of organised Hunts, meet some like minded people and you'll be away.

    Hope this helps

    Cheers

Welcome aboard the forum Angus. Dundee is right in what he says. Dougie is probably on her bike and coming around to see you as we speak.

Just hang around here long enough Angus and people will start making offers goodlot around here. I'm a keen as mustard noob too. There are a few Wellington dudes on here with a lot of experience. Are you in town or the burbs? Sweet that you're involved in scouts too. I run the Wellington City Cadet Unit. Are your scouts just down the road from us?

Are you 12 years old or something?! Rent isn't too bad, but I guess that depends how good a chef you are!

Sweet dude, good to see people getting out there and giving back to the community

OK Dougie, I got your back. Angus you should meet up with Dougie (and probably the dog coz he is joined at the hip) and talk hunting. Dougie is well connected down there.
