there are better options than using 1080, that article is saying everyone should rely on the crap.

That bloody woman infuriates me. I spoke to her in Rotorua once and offered to take her into the bush to experience the silence after a 1080 drop. she was not in the slightest bit interested.
I raised the issue at our annual GM of the NZDA....The government using my tax dollars to fund DOC to drop indiscriminatly on 'National Parks'....not holding my breath......
Those drops would be better placed over a beehive :pissed off:
All over the news this morning

Yeh I am not happy. DoC don't need any bloody encouragement when it comes to spreading that shit.
and the viable alternative is???............................................. .................................................. .........
I saw a trap being used on a program (NZ) targeting stoats, the adult female was attracted to bait at the end of the 'trap', she would rub her flanks/stomach over 'poison' (dont know which one) which her young
would suck/lick off her when she returned to the nest.......goodbye next generation......... trap would stay active for months, not just one chicken egg which have to be replaced costing many 'man hours'.......
would much rather see 'direct extermination' like this targeting specific species (this would work on rats too) rather than indiscriminate 'drop' which kills ALL species and gets into the water supply....
Im not that naive to think it would eradicate all NZs pests, but this 'blanket poisoning' has to stop.....
