How would I measure the length on this atypical Sika?

Went out for my first Sika hunt over the weekend and was pretty stoked to put this funky old fella back in dirt.

I want to do a rough douglas score on him (and if I he scores well get an official one), but I wasn't sure if the length measure would follow the drop tines or just carry up through to the top points. I'd also be interested in his age if anyone can give some info on it.

    Cheers

Looks pretty even to me so will probably score ok. Not the classic shape tho.
    Good trophy

I'm guessing score as usual six...short side isn't huge...back times must count or couldn't score a ten...but can you hang wedding ring on the club looking side??? Doesn't a "tine" have to have a tip to score??

Looking at that I would say that the throwbacks would be longest so double the shortest for length. Then measure the rest so long as they have a a matching point on the other side, eg two brows, etc and once again double the shortest of each.
That is a very interesting head, sika are known for oddball heads but that’s a classic well done.

Length of antler is always the longest length despite what top tine it is. Then double the shortest measurement. So it could well be the throwbacks.

Forget the score that is a great trophy mate , hard to say how big it is in the pics but even the shorter looking back tine on right side is going to have a decent overall length so will probably score pretty well , just run a tape from coronet up the antler and down the back tine , if the shorter one is over 30” it is getting up there for a Sika , do that and post the measurement

I measured it at 32 inches long. Rough total of about 205. I'll try get it scored officially next time I'm in town.

Ok , yep 32 is a decent length for a Sika , and it should score 190 plus , be real cool if it does make the 200 club ,definitely worth someone to do it properly for you , do you have a straight front on pic ?
