Great looking country alright, I would presume the Roe deer is very nice eating?
Great looking open country. Well done!!
We used to live in a little village over looking Innsbruck & not far from there I saw my first Austrian Chamois. All the valleys are stunning in all the different seasons
While living in Austria I got around a bit, toured through the Mannlicher & Kahles factory, went hunting for Fox & Roe deer with the in laws & also did some driven boar & pheasant hunts.
Whenever we hunt chamois over here I think of where they come from.
Great pics! What parts of NZ are you planning on visiting?
Looks amazing!! Would love to hunt Austria one day.
Interesting......:)
NZ is more than 3 times the size and has about half the population, so population density is less than 1/6th. Still some nice places to hunt in Austria as evidenced by the pictures.
Meanwhile our hunting season is pretty much over. Had some great time in the mountains.

In early November we got some crazy amount of snow even at low altitude. Made hunting physically tough. But it made the animals spend a lot of time in the open so that most hunts turned out successful. A lot of meat in the freezer.

But the season's highlight definitely was earlier in the year when I was finally able to take a chamois doe that I had already known for more than 4 years. Not very tall but extremely wide and massive. 16.5 years old.
