I suspect you'll find you can only have two of : public land, easy access, and good animal numbers. Somewhere like Clements mill might be an exception, but not easy hunting for the inexperienced.
Don't like to carry a pack.....day hunt. Want to drive to hunting....pay for private land hunting,management culls on safari block. Or buy meat from supermarket.

I recall taking a non-hunting mate into the Kaimai's when we were about 18. Needless to say he encountered supplejack for the first time, spent a lot of time dropping expletives, and never came hunting again...
So I can see the appeal of finding an easy access spot for those who aren't likely to do a HUNTS course or similar - maybe settle for a few unarmed bush walks with a couple beers to get them started?
Couldn't find a better time to begin hunting, excellent numbers, ask the guys who started in the 80's & 90's what tuff was.
Spooking a deer every third hunting trip made me happy.... Would hunt hard to achieve even that. Any deer spotted was shot ASAP regardless of angle as I sure as shit didn't want it to get away. Nothing,and I mean NOTHING was left on carcase. I even carried a few out whole so could get every scrap of meat off them.
