Hunting the Hopurahine

Hi, guys

Driven past this spot heading to the lake for hunting many times and planning a hunt with my teenage son when we get the next fine spel of weather.
If you have hunted the area up river of the camp/car park can you give me any tips? Also are vehicles safe in the car park for 3 to 4 days?

Wandering what access up the river is like also. Seen quite a few wandering horses in the area and wander if their owners are trouble for cars etc? Thanks
