    Hunting near Dunedin

Hey team. I’m heading to Dunedin this weekend and wanting to take my brother in law out for a day trip. I don’t know the area at all for hunting. Can anyone point me in the right direction for a block nearby? Can travel up to 2 hours.
I’m not asking for your spot x, just to be pointed in the right direction. We are happy to put some hard yards in the hills
    Cheers

Close(ish) would be Silver Peaks or Waiori Gorge. If you want a reasonable chance of a deer I'd suggest you drive a little further. An hour north will get you to Waianakarua, an hour and half south will get you to the Catlins.

    That should be Waipori Gorge.

Having a chat to my bro it looks like we will give the caitlins a crack, specifically the Beresford range block. I would really appreciate someone’s input familiar with the block on what entrance would be best for a day trip. We like a bit of a climb and keen to get into some elevation. Feel free to pm me instead of writing on here. Once again I am not looking for your spot, just to point us in the right direction so we can maximise our day. We don’t get to hunt together very often, so I am keen to get the most out of it.

    Cheers
