    Hunting Nelson

Right! New truck and new scope! I have been putting in a few hours hunting, but am going home with clean hands and an empty pack!
I've been doing a bit down matakitaki, but there was bugger all sign about. Should I be hunting creeks or ridges? Or put hours in somewhere else?

    Cheers

Creek heads and basins should be producing.
Stags should still be feeding hard up high trying to put on condition for winter.

Its really worth joing the local branch, if for nothing else than to access the bloody cracker range they have.

The fact you will meet a lot of bloody good buggers as well is beside the point entirely

All those with dogs waiting no longer fear death. Those with many dogs waiting even welcome it in it's time.

Head somewhere else and find some sign then go back. Good looking areas and country that has no sign or easy places with so little wont help you get a animal.....just means theres stuff all there at that time of year and best to head into another area . Either that or i shot them last week lol

Well bigger I missed that one. The next one will be on the 21st July yeah?

Thanks for the pointers guys! I did a bit of a mission up the Cobb last Sunday down to peat flat. Saw heaps more sign but the weather was terrible didn't see any animals.
