Hunting in the roar.
hey everyone
We are 2 guys from denmark(little country in Europe) that are coming to NZ the 3th of april 2014. We heard a lot about the roar ballot. Is that everywhere in NZ? Is there no places where we can hunt until the roar is over? We were thinking of hunt some chammy and thar first, near Franz Josef. Would that be illegal, due to the ballot?
Regards
Søren Leegaard, Denmark
- Sorry for my bad spelling, hope you understand.

Welcome to the forum. Gibo is correct you will no doubt hear from some of the guys down South.

Welcome Guys... Hope you enjoy your hunts if you get here. Again you will have to wait for an answer from someone from the south to get the best answer for that one...
Please do plenty of research (as you seem to be) as there were a couple from your area that did the same thing and got in some BIG TROUBLE for shooting native /protected and endangered species of birds .
Have fun and good luck

There is shit loads of unballoted public land in the south available for roar hunting. All that is required is a hunting permit from the dept of conservation. For free.
As for ballot areas the doc website and or Google should give you boundrys of blocks.
