Hunting the same area you shot a deer (timeframe)

I shot a deer on a clearing. Nice grass, beauty spot. How long will deer steer clear of the area?

Deer have no comprehension of rifles and bullets, nor do they know what the gutted mess left behind is...what they do know is that humans make a load ear thumping sound...well those you miss do anyway.
Which is worse, ignorance or apathy...I don't know and don't care.

Literally hours afterwards. Although the strangest this I saw was them feeding on a clearing pretty much minutes after a helicopter had flown in, shot four and gutted them on the clearing.

I wasn't sure were the chopper had gone exactly, came across the clearing, saw another deer, shot it then found four gut bags less than 50yds from the deer I'd shot! The guts were still steaming

A mate shot a deer in the weekend, gutted it, was walking back towards his truck, had hardly left the clearing and bumped into another one so dropped it too.
I'm drawn to the mountains and the bush, it's where life is clear, where the world makes the most sense.
