Thread: Kaikoura rivers and weather patterns

Looking at a few hunting options in the kaikoura region and curious as to what rain/weather patterns cause the rivers up there to flood/rise etc, I.e nor west rain all good. Easterly no good etc just looking at typical patterns regarding catchments to help planning for access/exit routes and don't want to be caught by rivers rising from rain over the back you can't even see while your sitting in sun....
