    Kaweka Sika

The weather has cleared a bit today and it's obvious the deer know that most are at the Sika show.......

It's 11.30 am in the morning and there is a stag and hind sleeping in the open on a clay pan on the south west end of Ferny Ridge

I will try to get closer for a better pic

Have crossed the saddle back to Northern Birch

No toot growing here yet but when you scrape the surface the new shoots are just underneath

Sika are eating the flax which is good

Can still see the stag and two hinds now and its 3.10 pm

That's great info thanks. Very selfless.
I've often wondered when exactly the tute sticks its head through.

A stunning sunny evening with hardly a breeze followed

A lot of well browsed broadleaf around, i was impressed by the height of the browse line !!!

    And fresh prints

Found two young stags down a rocky face

    Tap in some data

    Great result

Great being in the hills as the spring temps arrive
