I don't think that humanity is unique in the universe
I think it is natural once you get over your 50s to think about legacy and the future
Some people restore antiques, some people trap wetlands and create habitats
I also wouldn't be surprised if humans don't make it but that belief will have little or no effect on how I live my life

WTF has happened to the countries that gave us the ANZACS?
Could have thought their decendants would be able to tie everything up quick smart... or did you allow too many Brits back in?![]()
@Jt89 What is the situation with access to private land like? My in-laws are farming in NSW N Tablelands area and they have a good number of people going on to their farm to knock over the pests. High numbers too, my f-i-l shot over 600 animals (deer, pigs and roos) in a single month in the big drought a couple of years back, not bad going for a deaf guy in his 80's. Is it common to access farms?
Only NSW & Vic have public land hunting.
Plenty of deer in both states. Heaps of goats and pigs in NSW, not so many in Vic. My understanding is that NPs in NSW are breeding grounds for pigs and goats in particular

A bit more bang is better.
I call them Neglected Parks.
Couple of years ago we were holidaying in NSW near
Coonabarabran NSW. Personally saw about 20 goats and another piggy diggings to plant 10 acres of wheat. And that was just a couple of short bush walks. Nothing like that where I live. All thin on the ground here.

I've had too much to drink tonight.
We are the descendants; we are the ones that allowed this to happen. Enjoy the last of an era. As a Boomer I feel so ashamed I can't wear my medals and march in the parade on ANZAC day. I'm not allowed to express my views with a political bent without being banned on this forum. Politics and lobbying by like-minded people have created this world we live in. RANT finished. We follow Aussie with our politics
I feel for you. On some forums, just disagree with the mods point of view and your out faster than Jack Robinson.

But if you currently live in USA, watch out if you upset Trump in anyway. They are headed for some serious shit.

I originally hail from central Queensland, but lived in a few areas west and mostly around the mining/heavy industry towns. The perception of most hunters would be the stereotypical pig hunter and roo shooter, a pack of big dogs on the back of the ute etc. Not a popular idea to most landowners with a couple hundred acres, and bigger farms/stations tended to be a bit cagey about who they let on due to the behavior of some.
To be fair, I haven't lived in QLD since 2013 and not in Australia since 2016. Things may be changing, but I would say anywhere along the coast the city attitudes towards hunting will still be there.
