    Kiko Rd closed

Just read on face book that Kiko Rd was closed this morning. Anyone know why?

Hope it's not closed permanently otherwise I'll have to look at another spot to try

I’m pretty sure it won’t be, been nothing mentioned about it. Here’s hoping anyway.

Its not a public road. The owners can do whatever they like. It may be that they are harvesting alongside the road, or they may just want it for themselves. The Cyclone Gabrielle clean up has long since finished.

But its more evidence of Govt/DoC not getting off their chuff and negotiating an easement for public access. Access into the Kaimanawas is suffering death by a thousand cuts.

There’s nothing left to harvest next to the road, it’s all been cleared.
