Good to see then talking about teaching kids saftey. Ormond kindy is semi rural so there will be a few farming type kids that go there

I see nothing wrong with it, they are not teaching kids to pick up a stick and beat a cat to death, its a fundraiser to raise funds for their kindy and humanely remove two pests and teach the kiddies more about safety

I agree totally with you guys.
Learning firearms safety at a young age will ensure that they won't turn into 'desensitised purveyors of domestic violence'.
I taught my kids safe handling of firearms when they were 7 & 9 years old.
They aren't all that interested in firearms, but would probably know more about handling rifles/shotguns, than a pro-gun control townie.
I think our learned professor better get off his shiny arse and see what possums can do to a native bird's nest/eggs/chicks.
$12-$18 per possum skin is a great incentive for the locals to get behind the event - and for out of district people to assist in the local pest control program.
Pity my missus has a pub crawl organized for me on the day - and she's driving too

Damn there are some dicks in the world. Big ups to the school / kindy for running the event. I hope they enjoy a great deal of success with their fund raising. The kids will have a ball.

Nothing less than what many of us grew up with. Bloody good on them. Beats the shit out of video games.

Director of research and education Prof Andrew Knight
Director of research and education from which organisation, and a professor of what? Total lack of journalism yet again.

That aside sounds like your usual nupty that is full of emotive talk and completely lacking in valid argument.

"Director of research and education Prof Andrew Knight says encouraging "violence towards animals leads to violence against people"."

Slaughtering of animals for consumption is a violent action. Don't see hordes of abattoir staff, fishermen, hunters all roaming the streets looking for people to kill.

that is the problem with social media. you can get the whole world tuning in to your little channel.including a huge population of urbanites who don't know anything about animals except what they learnt off watching Disney.

Sounds like a good weekend away in Ormond. If I lived closer I'd be keen on going. Nice bit of advertising 😁

Prof Knight says it's a bad look for New Zealand. Well mr prof of what ever , 1080 is a bad look for NZ too . At least the family's are getting away in the outdoors together , and learning far more than academia has tort you by the look of things .
