    Lake rotoroa

Last minute decision to head up there tomorrow and back Sunday. Going on my own so I'm offering 1-2 people the opportunity of a boat ride. Can either come with me from Blenheim or can meet in St Arnaud.

Bugga, wish I had seen this marvelous offer last night....

We even considered buying a cheap wee boat for exactly that kind of outings .
    Have a great trip 300wsm

Yea should do, a beautiful day here in St Arnaud. Yes you certainly have to be careful of the sandflys, they are big enough to carry unsuspecting person away for consumption.

I assume your a talking about Bull creek? Not sure where Boulder creek is.
I ended up going into the Tiraumea valley for the night. No animals sighted, lovely valley. First time in that valley and I have been hunting that area for 20yrs. Will definitely be back in there with my two boys.

@LBD let me know how you get on I would be keen to help as I see the d'Urville Valley is not on their radar to do any wasp control.

Unlikely DoC will be able to give permission as they are so bound and gagged by Health and Safety red tape.

Even just for vespex bait? I'm not currently certified for it bit it sounds easy enough to sort.

Yes. Unfortunately even for Vespex. It has to be laid at a specific time of year (when the wasps are seeking protein) and then removed in a certain timeframe. Not trying to put you off, just saying I don't think you will get "approval" to do it.

Just talked with DoC about something different and the woman there said to get in touch with Friends of Rotoiti as they do trapping etc all over the park. So be worth a shot for next season.
