hey all
heading up kaikoura in few weeks if anyone could point me in the right direction for some good day hunts would be great (anything from deer to goats) i know its a long shot people like to keep there spots a secret (cant blame them) but any help would be great thanks

People are a lot more willing to help someone who contributes(well I am anyway) to the forum and lets everyone get to know you;)
I know nothing of the area but check out the DOC website for public land to hunt on in the area, and scope the area out with your topo maps and google earth. You can find free topo maps here LINZ Topographic Maps | Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) - Toit

few deer pigs and goats. most of the locals use quad bikes to get up there but i walked. think there may be even the odd chammey. kaikoura is a big area with HEAPS of scope for a hunt. plenty of places to go. get the the book hunting in nz second edition by mark airey. it is a good place to start, with a few pointers. if you are new to hunting just be careful up on them hills by yourself, and watch the weather. best of luck.
