    Looking for friends

    Hows it fellas,

Just about to move to our new house near havelock. Don't know anyone down there but have a good opportunity to keep some animals etc.

Anyway, don't really know how I make new friends as a grown man. Pretty embarrassing like l, but thought I'd throw it out here if anyone is looking for a tag along on a hunt or something.

Average chat, enjoy a beer, pretty fit and don't mind a carry.

    Any info or advice appreciated

    Cheers

Nest BBQ is at yours then?
Good on ya for putting yourself out there. We do tend to find it harder as we get older. It must be the Hermit in us coming through.

gonna don my flame suit. Join NZDA. they're getting better, not so much an old boys club these days.

in general finding another hobby that has a club with similar aged people will help.

Mate, what you are looking for is to meet people with similar interests.
Here may as well be as good a place as any.
I'm an Aussie but I'm looking to connect with people here with a similar interest.
Hopefully one day I travel over and meet some of you, have a coffee, a beer, maybe a hunt and make new friends.
I've had one member friend me online here and I also have a friend there who I've chatted with a lot, even have him a call when our knives arrived.
All bull aside I've connected with a few members of another forum. Some chat on the phone. Two I've met, two more I hope to meet around Easter, one I'm planning a hunt with.
I hope you find some good mates here.

Those cunts that run Auckland branch need their heads read.
I heard they put the range fees up (against a vote not to) to $50 per shooter per day.
The range is not worth that by a long shot, the 100m shooting position is all on the piss and crappy.

$50 for a day at the range? it was $20.

What the fuck? are they trying to put people off shooting?

I hunt solo a lot, it’s really hard to find someone to hunt 3 to 6 day trips in the hills. A lot of my old mates and family don’t hunt much anymore. I take a lot of my work mates hunting when they can get the time off. Day trips or overnighters doesn’t do it for me as you rushing to drop an animal ( the first one you see ) to get back home, the places I go it a days walk-in and a bigger walk out.

What type of animals you want to hunt?
What type of hunting? Long range? Deer stalking? Bush? Alpine? Burn 100 rounds on goats and bunnies or take a magazine of ammo trip.

I might do a hunt with you. Check out some of my posts and give me a pm if keen. I can’t do anything in the next 4-6weeks as the wife is having a hip operation and I’m the nurse. You must have all your gear and don’t mined my hound dog.

I also joined the Marlborough NZDA 3 years ago and have some good trips and great club nights with a lot of new members joining.

NZDA has been great for me including Auckland, now Taranaki. As a member there was never a day charge for the range. Doubt there is one now but correct me if I'm wrong. If the day charge is for none members so what? Members make a range both through subs and working bees. If someone wants to just rock up and use the range with no other responsibilities then charge away, especially in Auckland. If they don't like it they could always join. Or try and organize their own range. Eh?
I know a lot but it seems less every day...

@Jhon How does the naki NZDA compare to the auckland branch? I'm making the move back to the naki in May and thinking about joining.
