@deer-1-me-0 flicked me a message on Facebook, gave him a handy spot not to far of a drive and walk for him.

First evening he went up there for a look he missed a deer at 180 yards and was pretty gutted by the sounds!

The keen fulla had got up at 3am yesterday to go to that same lookout at first light but didn’t have any luck. I flicked him a message that same arvo as I was planning to head out for an evening hunt in the Ruahines and he was keen to tag along!

We walked up a creek for about an hour on the eastern side of the range and punched up a ridge to a lookout I had cut. We had only been sitting there for 10 or so minutes when three stags came out.

Took around 15-20 minutes to get comfortable and do some dry fires. He ended up putting the hurt on the youngest out of the three in some marginal wind at 400 yards! Success!

Stoked to take someone out as keen as I was a few years ago hahahaha.

Ps still trying to work out how to post pictures on this thing if anyone could help me out 😂

Restraint is the better part of dignity. Don't justify getting even. Do not do unto others as they do unto you if it will cause harm.
