    Model 94 : Sambar Deer.

Got out this arvo for a walk around an stretch the legs a bit, too hot for this black duck but its only just starting...sigh.

freezer was low so tried to find a Hind... hells bells if five hinds didnt slink out of the timber an hour before dark!

got the bead on one at 60m as she fed down the hill, 245gr hard cast with an initial poor shot, the deer didnt go far an was able to anchor her moments later.

freezer full just in time for the heat wave

Thi partocular load i worked "down" last week, normally the 375 winnie is a 2000fps rifle, id been using it for around 1800fps with Hard cast coated but recently figured with the factory red recoil pad that the rifle kicked too much for my usages... which is under 100m bush stalking.
So i downloaded it to the original Specs of the 38-55, which the .375 originated from.... its basically a 38-55 magnum in todays terms.... Well now mines a beefed up Slow version
much more pleasant to shoot off hand around 1500fps. an plenty enough wallop, may go to a softed Cast soon though

great to see you out filling the freezer...neat rifle too....so nice to see someone shooting deer with older cartridge not a huge magnum with yard of scope up top.
