Send it to the tanner
im getting it done through a mate and hes said to get everything off
Stretch it tight over some thing and take to it with a curved blade and just be careful?
I had it open on the floor and tried but I was to scared ill cut the skin. I cant just cant the skin off round the edge eather because its got a wicked out line
Let it dry out then chew it off mate. Goat jerky. ;)
If you really need it off then its going to take patience and a sharp little knife.
I'd look at getting it stretched as good as I could and take it easy with the knife. You should be sweet if there is a bit of tension there.
sweet ill give it ago. lucky I have today off work :D
cheers for that ill give it a go
Possumer I wouldn't be me if I didn't chime in with something stupid to say so stick it back on the goat and skin it properly this time. ha ha ha ha
haha I do have the carcus hanging still. doesn't help that it was one of the fattest goats ive seen
Tip that I use if I want to keep the skin and have the whole carcass is to hang from the front legs not the back legs. Naturally easier to skin as it goes with the hair etc not against it. You also dont leave behing the flank meat which can be easily done by going from back to front.
Just my opinion.
Never tried skinning a goat but if its anything like otherwise animals ive skinned getting it hung up right awa and skinning while its still warm I find easiest. For next time though aye. Id maybe considered tring the back of your knife if the fats hardened. Might be able to rub mist of it off.
