Hi,
Has anyone been into the Northern Ruahines since the big 1080 drop? Was wondering what the deer numbers were like? I've heard there is plenty of grass on some major slips in there but not sure of animals numbers?
Cheers ,Karlos

From the trips we have done there seems to be just as many in there now as before the drop mate.
Good luck

No animals. @ARdave killed the last stag and 1080 killed everything else. Pureoa and Kaimais is where its at.
I herd the 1080 drop went so well there isnt even any flys left up there
Yup, its an ill wind that brings no good. No deer left in the drop zone, but at least no flies.
Very funny bunch of spinners. Ha ha ha ha ha ha . Ya musy all be bored silly.
@Woody did you hear the interview last Friday on National radio (about mid morning)? A researcher was tracking bird calls before and after 1080 in the Aorangis.
(Later) Found it: https://www.radionz.co.nz/national/p...t-forest-claim
Nup. Was it Eugenie with a bee in her bloomers??:)
I've added the link for your listening pleasure, @Woody

I'll have a listen when I'm not bored silly @Tahr
Because usually after a 1080 drop there is sfa to hear.
We all suffer from that problem @7mmwsm. However, the eyeballs also don't deceive and nor does the nose.
Wrong range but I'm pretty sure it was @Nathan F who called them "Kaweka budgies"
If only 1080 killed Wasps. The fuckers are taking over!!!
1080 kills everything man. its worse than nuclear weapons.
Have you heard anything from Chuck Norris recently? No, didn't think so.
1080 KILLED CHUCK NORRIS
Seriously though. Wasps are bastards. I've not seen too many in Ruahine but yeah, they're getting outta hand.
Your wild consipracy theories are getting out of hand there scribe, lay off the herbal tea mate.
Chuck Norris is alive and well saw him coming out of the Ruahines after slaying a 6 point trophy

Was yor mate kiwijames talking that shit; not scribe.
If kiwijames is talking shit, does that mean that there might be some deer that have survived? Surely not??
Or did Chuck get the last one?
I bet you'll find em @Tahr :)
Thanks guys :) I think :)
You made me laugh! Especially the blowfly sausages!
Might have to go check it out for myself :)
How can such a honest question turn into those two pages:wtfsmilie: really?
First time poster without an introduction wants something in return for no contribution. Thats how (well in my mind anyway) it happened. Harmless stuff, and fun.
Nothing against you @karlos, maybe just a few more posts would be nice before you get a cookie?
Are ok makes sense didn't see that. I say fare call then NO DEER there try queen street:XD:
Oh, fair call guys. I'm a long time browser but didn't realise or pay any attention that I hadn't posted on here before lol. Posted a couple of hundred times on the other H&F forum over the years but that seems to have turned into a ghost town in the last year or two. Posted the same question over there a week or so ago and never even got a funny answer. Can almost see the electronic tumbleweeds there, oh, unless the 1080 wiped it out (tounge in cheek) :)
Think I better get typing :)
Cheers, Karlos
Yes @karlos if this is your intro we'll done now that was some stalk......nice long and drawn out:thumbsup: welcome on board.:D
Thanks @Sideshow. Was some stalk indeed, but clearly I was smelt early on by you all so it was more like stalking down wind through the supplejack, but never mind, made it here now. At th bottom of the hill and beginning the climb...
As for needing a coat - i collect those too damnit, I'm a sucker for those specials at the Sikashow.
Unfortunately I have a ballot in there for the same weekend as opening weekend of duckshooting - dumb luck there, but plenty of coats to keep me dry and toasty :)
Welcome @karlos good to see you can take a joke & some advice  The snow down in the mainland has cranked up the stags vocally....surely their northern cousins have too.
