Well done lads. There is nothing I've ever seen on TV or the Net that comes even close to that combo of extreme wilderness, physical challenge, game animal quality and plain realism.
Sam sure earns his money. Lugging all that gear through those shitty river ravines, tall scrub and ice slopes must be "fun" at times.
Watched the episode that featured the three generations (recorded).
Got the old juices for hunting flowing again.
Back in to the Tararus as soon as, using my Xmas present (Stoney Creek Buller pack).
Next trip planning is 4-5 days, going real slow.
The replacement hip to be inspected by the specialist Wed 15th.
If all clear, will firm up details with an experienced Tararua mate, who's wanting to get out and about again.

Just watched it after recording it the other night, great stuff. Different part of the Olivines to where I've been, but fairly similar terrain!
