    Otupua Hunting Block Trip 2013

    Fly in trip with Blair, Paul and Jackson with Tongariro Aviation to the Otupua Hunting Block.



    To our surprise we also saw feral goats feeding on the runway, the first time I have seen them in the Kaimanawas.

    This was the last flight for Tongariro Aviation to the blocks, as HeliSika have now taken over the charter.

    Many thanks to Gerrard and Lisa from Tongariro Aviation, especially as Gerrard flew us out on his birthday.

    Yep, much of the valley was farmed at one stage (similar to Poronui), now reverting to scrub. In 10 years, many of the grassed areas will be manuka.

    The only thing Gerard did was balls up a good operation that Air Charter had. Gerard and his track record were never going to succeed. Thats why helisika would have been so keen to back him. The cost of flying to private blocks has now become very one sided.
