    pest control update

    information of interest for trappers and hunters of areas that may be jepordised.

    1. Ruapehu Mangakahu area: KB Environmental Services on behalf of AHB using brodifacuom and Feratox in bait stations, November 2012 – June 2013 approximately.

    2. Wione area east of Wheao River: Epro for AHB, commencing as soon as practicable after November 15 2012 – December 2012, aerial 1080 with deer repellent to protect resident deer herds.

    3. Te Urewera National Park Mainland Island, Onepu, Otamatuna/Mangaone, Waikokopu, Pakoakoa, Otapukawa and Te Waiiti Stream, Orouamananui: continuation of the existing pest control operation, 50,000 ha using traps, cyanide and Feratox pellets, completion by June 2013.

    4. Orautoha Forest: AHB aerial 1080, autumns/winter 2013, 5230 hectares. Epro

    5. Pukeatua, west of Otaki Forks on the boundary of the Tararua Ranges: for AHB by Bioworks, 4,700 hectares, aerial 1080.
