Humans are the only vertical "animal" running around in the bush. Very easy to ID for a deer compared to horizontal things like goats, pigs and other deer. Therefore go slow with small steps, avoid sky-lining yourself or put yourself against a bright background and ideally stay always in the shadows. When you stop, always lean against a tree or even better, kneel down in front and against something and remove that vertical shape from the landscape.
We also tend to grab branches or trees to help us in uneven terrain or to push stuff out of the way with our arms and hands. Watch one of your mates stalking past you and you will be amazed on all the arm movement from grabbing and pushing stuff or shifting the rifle from one hand to the other or adjusting the backpack, etc. Stop those movements and also those pumping legs doing big strides as much as possible and become a tree trunk that magically shifts its location every now and then.
Once I changed the above, my success rate increased significantly.
