Hey if you want to shoot your record on a "caged" style safari hunt - go for it. But some of this footage is on NZ Public land and features a local chopper company.
Thoughts? I see that comments are turned off on most of the channels content.

I dont mind someone making money out of their land and deer not as hard on land as big mobs cattle - but I object like hell when they shut of existing access points to DOC public land behind as many do just to have their precious Safari farm

Wtf is that thing with that guy not showing his face but only the brand on his cap? They seem to value the film they produce more than the animal they shoot at.( in other circumstances I would have said harvest, but not in that case)
And that shot on that chami with a 3/4 back presentation is pathetic.
Lucky some of our National productions are on another level.
He goes around the world shooting trophies out to like a thousand yards I think in some cases, I feel like he wants to avoid personal attacks but also has an ego so wants to show off how good he is. Each to their own I guess, money talks and he seems to have a few coins
Watched a couple of his other vids. Enough to convince me I'm not interested in following any of his hunting trips.
Each to their own though. If he has the money and he can spend it in any way that pleases him.

Those heli hunts are known as AATH. It was an election issue about 12-15 years ago for MP Peter Dunne but few Kiwi's (hunters) voted his way though he stood against it on behalf. NZDA stood against it but they are only one group from many more. Dunne remains a political commentator as in just in the recent elections. Gotta be careful criticising these things when under MMP you had a chance and many recreational hunters 'blew' it. Gotta live with it now.

He’s a great shot, shame he felt the arse on shot was required at 200m.
Two things stood out for me, (a) it’s embarrassing what people will do for money and (b) it’s embarrassing what some people do with money.

happens all over the world catering no pandering to paying clients - no worse than in SA safari parks where the client sits in a blind high above a water trough in fact likely the only water supply in the paddock and shoots kudu or whatever - or plugs a farmed and sedated lion - look at the photos from USA of deer farmed white tail from breeding farms - just something out of a horror movie -not all hunters sadly are ethicalQuote:

I remember reading years ago of a rich arab "trophy hunter"who was hosted at a NZ game reserve .Having picked his trophy the poor bloody thing was driven past him and he still missed!
myself -i was in a taxidermists one day and spotted a full bod y wapiti mount -very impressive ,but what piqued my interest was two holes at antler bases . staff member appraoched me and i asked about it ,thinking maybe it was some sort of method for transporting big animals with horns .
yep i was partially correct .this had been shot by the neer do well son of a malaysian billionare ,whom daddy had had a gutsful of and sent him to coventry money no object .It was practise to obtain antlers off farmed stags and more money you pay the bigger rack we'll fit on your trophy.
Ileft the conversation and building at that -it offends my ethos on hunting .as for duck shooting -well I hunt in memory of my late father who died duckshooting and so ill keep that term but if you choose otherwise feel free .to clarify Dad suffered a stroke was comatosed and died a week later following a massive one-his 3rd.
Iv passed up on a few deer in my time,shooting from behind.You are not going to kill them,they trot or hobble away not to be found and suffer a slow death.
He couldv waited a few seconds for that chami to turn.Pretty gutless shooting I thort.
Most of his hunts are pretty decent to watch expect the NZ hunt which put me off the video. What some fail to realise is that a lot of these type of hunters run multi million companies and do not have 7 days to stay and hunt but only have 2 to 3 days tops.
Still this type he did NZ is pretty slack plus putting it on youtube
And some group bitches about cruelty to animals, but does nothing about this type of killing. You cannot drown a mouse or an opossum, but you can terrorise an animal with a helicopter.
Ridiculous in so many ways I’ve lost count!
Pretty much says it all that he won’t show his face.
A well placed rear on shot ruins practically no meat and kills very quickly if you use a suitable caliber, which will penetrate through to the vitals.Quote:
