I recently had the opportunity to grab a couple highland bull horns off a prizewinning animal.
Absolute cracker spread on it and thought they might make a good roaring horn.
Next to my old roar horn they really are massive!
Obviously I can cut them down but the could be great a bit bigger than normal. Anyone done it?
Also, Anyone got a real choice horn with good character? Good twists?

Watched one of the Graf boys videos and they were making roaring horns, from memory they were quite long. Probably the only thing would be is it easy to carry down the front of your swanni or not.
When you think about the diameter and length of a stags windpipe that put out those magnificent roars and the ability to attract them by roaring through cupped hands then, for once, size does not matter

That highland horn will make an excellent roaring horn.
The size is really down to personal choice.

For me it's not the length but the width of the mouthpiece. Too small and I can't pass enough air through it to get a good loud bellow going. My own preference is around about 40mm inlet hole.
A secret is to under roar not blast the sky off. Better still is to get the AJ hind call. Forget about stags wanting to fight during the roar they much prefer doing the other stuff.Why scare a stag off but rather drag him in.
