    Roar timing for 2014

Always interested to hear if the roar is looking like it is early or going to be late each year so I can plan the timing of some trips in. This time we went in ourselves for a couple of days 10th-11th from Kumeti (south-eastern Ruahines) and the stags are already fully wallowing in places, and we had animals chase us up & down the spurs for intruding, plenty of grunting but without any full roars. I'm not familiar with the area - does this point to things being a week-to-10days early for the Ruahines this year ?

Im picking last week of march onwards. A 10 point stag was shot on Sunday in the northern ruahines that was roaring
The good thing is hopefully buy Easter this year it will be all be over and no one gets shot by the once a year hunters.

I went to tauranga for easter a few years ago and we went hunting for 3 days. No one else was in the bush haha. I reckon everyone said I wont go hunting everyone will be there.

Booked in for trip to Southern Ruahines from 4-7th, so hopefully Neckshot's prediction is right. Can't wait! First time targeting Reds rather than Sika
