just been looking at american views of mountains and made me think of the different rock bivys around the country
my number one is in the kitchener,,june n frosty as with three deer wondering down the flats as the sun emerged over the skyline
nostalgia id give to the glaisnock

slept under many a rock but wouldnt call them a bivy
so lets hear yours

Hard to remember which is which sometimes... North Routeburn is a good one but Forgotten River Hotel probably my favourite.
Camped up next to the Hilux under the awning, chatting away with the lads you wouldn't believe it but, a but a silly Sika hind went barreling past us within 30yds. Couldn't believe it, we were being bloody noisy and the wind was all over the place.
Theres a good one up the top of Lambert River (tahr block) good spot to sit and glass for tahr out of the weather. We sat in there in the evenings watching tahr with a bottle of Scotch and chunks of ice that had fallen down off the glacier above, unbeatable :)
Glaisnock - spent a couple of days sitting in there watching the rain come down - don’t recall seeing any deer - just water!
