    Spring chamois hunt

Been pondering the idea of a spring hunt for chamois. I see a huge area north and east of Arthurs Pass all the way up to and including a large chunk or Lake Sumner RHA is getting hammered by 1080.
Looking for some suggestions for an old bugger to spend some time in the hills with the possibility of bumping into a cham & terrain that's not too daunting. A chopper fly in/out would be on the cards. Cheers

My cousin says that Victoria forest Park has a good number of chamois on the tops.

Chams wont touch 1080. Can give you some advice if you wanted to hunt the Lewis Pass area, I much prefer it for chamois over the Arthurs.

Hey Ryan are you willing to share some tips for the Lewis pass area, I’ve had a few trips now and haven’t managed to bag my first Cham yet... any help would be appreciated

Could see when the last time Saint James got any 1080 or waro. A good mountain bike can be useful. If you get a few hours away from the road end it can be good.
