    Stag last nite

    Knocked off work a bit early yesterday arvo. Decided to go for a quick walk over the other side of the lake. Had only gone for about an hour or so when I came on to some real fresh sign in the Pampas Grass. Jazz showed a lot of interest so I let her get out a little bit as she started casting. After about 3mins she goes on hard point looking down over a small bank. So I sneak around just in time to see a stag jump up and start looking around. That was my chance so I took a neck shot at about 50mtrs and down he goes. Jazz was beside herself and threatened to wag her self out of her body. A quick field dress and I rolled him over to put him on my back. Realised that I couldn't get up and having a fair way to go in limited light I just ended up taking the back legs and steak. A quick trip back this morning for the front quarters and the head of 8 points. Wasn't that long ago and I would of run out with the whole thing on my back. In the past and in the same area I sometimes shot 2 and just relayed them out. Oh for the strength and fitness of youth. Not worth a photo antlers only good for trout Priests.

    Well done GA. Getting older is a bitch when you remember how much easier things were a few years back. still you took it all
    It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
    What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!

    She's a 3yr old Black and White Wired Head Pointer. Didn't hunt her last year as I was recovering from a MB accident and the year before, her first year we got 16 Deer, Reds and Fallow over a 6 month period. She's handy on the Ducks, as well as things that go bump in the middle of the night. I use her for all sorts of security work and often have to rely on her for my safety. How do up load a Photo??
