Succesful winter hunt with the mutt and girlfriend

Took my girlfriend out for her first hunt in pureora yesterday, bit of rain here and there but overall not bad weather. Followed an old overgrown track for a couple ks which i had shot a pig on previously and had set up my trail camera on. Retrieved said camera which had been out since August last year and then headed up the nearest ridge. Trying to stalk as quiet as possible with the dog and misses in tow is very difficult but managed to pull up a nice sow 10m away behind a log, she looked up and i sluged her with the sub45 in the noggin 😀 excited dog was all up between my legs so couldnt get a shot at the second smaller pig that made a run from cover, couldnt carry much more anyway!

Subs are cast pills from shooternz/Robert on here 385 grains , he's still young and fast. He will be worth his weight in gold when i have a poor shot and have to track an animal for a while but he hasnt got the concept of stealth and stalking yet work in progress

Nice trail camera pics, always cool to see the animals in a area. What's the rifle / sight ? looks like a tight little package

Its a bergara b13 in 45/70 with a vortex red dot , bit on the heavy side but you need the weight when shooting full loads with the 45!
