Get on to the give a little page and donate now.
If government gets away with this everything else will be next.

sometimes showing support for a club isn't that easy , take the nzda for example Id happily put my name down & pay a fee to go towards fighting this stuff but last I checked to become a member you needed to go to 4 meetings & be nominated but that's not really my scene I have family and friends to take out , maybe this is a good time to bring up a possible signing up fee for forum members , 7630 x 25=$190750 and have the $ going straight to a good cause , I agree with cowboy this has been building for some time now , the greens are here its time for action.

I think it is important that we don't get confused about what we are trying to achieve.
I am not fighting conservation or conservationists. I want our forests and waterways protected and our land protected from exploitation.
What I also want is recognition of our game species as a valuable resource to be managed responsibly and be part of that conservation process irrespective of what government or party is in power. The Tahr management plan has been in place since 1992? and no government since then has actively managed or monitored it or, as far as I can see, made any attempt to change the status of our game herds.
Experience. What you get just after you needed it.

Most of us on here likely shear your views I like to think im a conservationist at heart , your last 3 sentences hit the nail on the head , however I don't think iv seen one of our game animals hit the headlines or people being so vocal , generous with there money to go towards achieving the above either so perhaps we haven't been collective enough in our approach in the past to getting game animals recognised for what they are , I don't have time for politics but id give a yearly fee to someone that does.

I’ll pass that on at our committee meeting tonight.
I still think individuals, if only giving $1 still represents a number added to the 1570 so far to show the numbers of willing donators. I see 20,000 signed the petition just like that, within a couple days. $ given can be made private and not displayed.
Money left over will go into making tahr a herd of special significance like the fiordland wapiti.

We need to take the word pest off of all our game species before we are going to see any progress.
Because at the end of the day it will just fall back to..."Oh there a PEST"! What do you do with pests you eradicate them.
Just look up DOC if you need a proper definition.
Yes we will still need to manage our new game resources just like any farmer our business.
But get rid of that wording and we will be on a much more even footing to fight this sort of knee jerk reaction in the future.
It's all fun and games till Darthvader comes along

Shows the numbers behind it too
if the tahr foundation has 5000 donated members it shows a lot more strength then 1700

You can even become a member of Direct Branch where you are not affiliated to any one branch if you're too far away or overseas for example.

The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds

It would appear that you cant shoot Tahr's with out ammunition. Well done Tahr Foundation for the good work. Now we just need a similar thing to happen with helicopter transport suppliers
    Tahr Foundation Update
The Foundation has been working flat out over the last few days to keep ahead of the Minister's plans. There has been a lot we can’t share publicly just yet but today we can finally give you a bit of an update!
Firstly, we have secured agreements from most of the ammunition suppliers that they will not supply DoC with the necessary ammunition ‘til they have heeded the alternative plan being proposed by the GAC. They are all wholeheartedly on board, and any company which broke ranks would be solely responsible for the destruction of the herd – and incur the wrath of thousands of very upset tahr hunters!
As reported by the Otago Daily Times, DoC have recently switched to using non-toxic shot only, as during the Zero Invasive Predators trial in the Perth catchment Kea were found to have highly elevated levels of lead, ingested as a result of DoCs decades of culling with lead buckshot. This means only non-toxic projectiles and buckshot ammunition may be used going forward.

Secondly, a meeting has now been sought by the Minister and is going to take place on Monday in Christchurch. The NZTF has been invited to this, and at this meeting the alternative plan proposed by the tireless team at the GAC will be considered. DoC have assured us that no culling will take place before this meeting.

Thirdly, a second letter has been served to DoC by our legal team, and progress on an injunction is dependent on the outcome of Monday's meeting.
A huge thank you must go out to the incredibly generous donors, we wouldn’t be in such a strong position without your generosity, if nothing else the huge amount of money raised has made politicians sit up and take notice.
Well done them even though it may only be the start of the battle
All those with dogs waiting no longer fear death. Those with many dogs waiting even welcome it in it's time.

Very clever move by the TF guys, now we just got to resist the idiot greens attempt on our wildlife for a couple more years and then all hunters and related block vote National so they don't need NZ First or the greens to be the Govt. Simon Bridges realizing just how many votes that represents will see the value in protecting our interests.

That sounds like the Gore Branch of the NZDA - attendance at 4 of their events to be eligible to get into the ballot for Glenaray Station. You can still join up and participate as much as your time or inclination permits.
