Under the Tahr Control Plan 15 Oct. entry read:

"For the purposes of this Plan, the numbers of tahr which are taken by recreational hunters who are not part of organised recreational hunting groups (as above) will not be counted as part of the 10,000 target for the October 2018-August 2019 period".

People like her that have a say are fucking the world.
Their ideals are out dated and unrealistic.
Who gives a flying fuck about the plants? There are areas they can grow with no fear of Thar browse.

Do those plants bring 50 million hunter tourist dollars to the country? No way.
They are just happy to cut their nose of to spite their ugly faces these moronic snowflake freaks.
We had to import coal to run a power station just recently because of their fucking stupid ideals.

To me there is no bigger fake than someone that happily resides in a city yet dictates conservationist ideals.

They forget this countrys identity was built on the backs of hard pioneers, miners, hunters, woodsman, explorers, farmers and soldiers. They are systematically shitting all over them now.

Thing that gets me is who goes to the alpine areas of nz.... I bet hunters would make up 90% of those people that go off a track in alpine nz, and the other 10% are hunter that happen to be tramping climbing and not carrying a rifle

From my experience I'd think off track in alpine areas would be more like 60% hunters / 20% trampers/climbers who are also hunters / 20% trampers/climbers who don't hunt at all. Hunters don't have a monopoly on it - I know plenty of good keen off-track trampers and climbers who aren't hunters, as well as plenty who are. And whatever their preferred backcountry antics, the people who actually get out there in the rough stuff and leave some sweat on the hills are mostly good sorts who respect the place and each other.

(At the bad end of the scale some trampers are vegan nancies who are scared to go off-track in case they get lost or dirty, some climbers think only climbers are worth talking to and everyone else should get out of their way because climbing is more important than other inferior hobbies, and some hunters are lazy pricks who drive/boat to a hut, get pissed and leave it a mess, and think 2 hours is a big walk.)

Probably depends where you go too, some places are more popular for hunting and some are more popular for tramping/climbing. I was a tramper and climber before I became a hunter as well, so I've seen it from both sides.
