Wonderful timing... Just as I have organised to have the first half of may to go look for tahr... That's the way the cookie crumbles for me usually

looks like they have listened to the suggestions, not shooting Bulls , and taking into account hunter and helicopter kills as part of the total cull figure. Lets hope that's how it is done on the ground.
I hope your right, but my trust in them is zero.
I see from the map they have almost made it to the east coast.....looks like there trying to escape ;)
but I’m with Mooseman and my hopes are with tetawa.
Are those estimated numbers about right....?
Shame they can’t get a better fix on that but at lest they have dropped the cull from 25000 to 10000.
What worries me is that when they have reached the desired reduction who's to say they will stop culling the tahr especially if there is no independent observer to keep an eye on numbers killed. As tetawa states his trust is zero which has come about by DOC doing there own thing and not informing the public. Lets hope this is not going to be one of those cases again.
Great time to be out in the hills culling at the busiest time of the year - Once again no thought or consultation.
but Twig & Tweet are getting plenty of press claiming that DOC are caving in to the interest of minority wealthy hunters..... :ORLY:

They and DOC continue to bleat on about the 10,000 in the 1993 plan, but fail to tell the press or press fail (as they do miserably so often) to look at all the facts - like the big increase in public land retired from farming since 1990's.
Duplicitous arseholes.
Any word on the special interest herd ?
