Thread: Te Rauamoa Reserve

I did a bit of a drive by of Te Rauamoa scenic reserve today (off kawhia road), just wondering if anyone has been through there before and might know if there are any animals in there, and what is the best way to access the bush/where to park. Planning on going back some time this week for a walk if the weather is ok, it will be my first time in Doc land.

I think the deer numbers would be low or none in that area but i have not been in that particular area myself. If it is close to you go for it you never know your luck or id suggest northern pureoras as your next option

I use to hunt a lot in Te Kauri reserve. We would get 5-20 goats a trip. That was about 20 years ago though. Will still be a few in there. But you do need to learn how the ridges link together.

Cool, I might give it a go. I was not expecting deer to be honest, it is small block. Just looking for goat mainly.
