    Waiho Bridge collapsed

    For those like me going over to Haast for the roar the Waiho bridge has collapsed.Bit of a bummer but it is what it is.Check the news

    The Army loves this shit. They'll be all over it with their new temporary bridge shit.

    I can't even get close to Franz at the moment. Road is closed between here and there and I don't know what for yet

    Apparently the main road is closed from near Hoki all the way to Makarora for a variety of slips and surface flooding etc. Guess it was easier than just closing bits in the middle.

    Priority should be fixing the coast after this storm not playing around taxing law abiding gun owners there guns .

    Bugger. It really didn't start raining here where I am till 4 pm but the river is as high as I have seen it.
    It has only just eased off now.
    Supposed to be good for a while after tomorrow and I am supposed to be south hunting today.

    Already said to me on the phone tonite by a non gun owner.
    They have needed a new bridge over the Waiho for years. Maybe the buy back will have to be put on hold

    Knowing our luck it will still go ahead but buy back is now half price boys & girls enter new crises !...ps if you stuck there im already in the south feel free to pass on where you are meant to be im such a good bugger il do your hunting for you

    I would but how are you going to get there? It is between Hoki and Haast

    Hoping road will be open to Franz at least tomorrow.
    Rivers and creeks will bugger where we were going to go for a few days so have a plan B thankfully.

    Has that super narrow bridge with the turns at each end fallen down yet? Somewhere between Hoki and Greymouth. I hope it has. I rented two quads in Greymouth and when the guy went to get the trailer he said casually "oh, someone has stolen it". I got the 12 quad trailer instead. Gave me about 4" clearance on either side of the bridge.
