There is fallow everywhere in the Wanganui hinterland. Find yourself a map of a DoC area , get your on-line permit and go exploring

I've found it's generally the best thing to do, as then you will know yourself.
And it's a good day out and about in some new ground and enjoying.

went behing waverly and the road petered out to a bush track, not too keen without 4x4
drove back to the main drag n went into waitotara valley, took the first ck on left in public hunting and after a while ran into a rather large waterfall and the sides very steep
so there a rather hot spot haha
did see some animals across the river but as its deep and full of shark infested tuna i refrained from pulling trigger

Now you know they are there though . Find yourself another access - inflatable boat? - and you will be good to go
