About LinkBacksLooks like Ruahine are to be open for 12 month recovery. The closed areas are still going to remain closed but the 1st Dec - 30th April closed period will be removed with 2/3 of the park available to recovery 12 months of the year. DOC chose to not consult with park users and has rolled this out off their own bat.
Edit: pretty sure I've just ruined the thread from the get go. Sorry, thought it was pretty relevant.
