TS told me the other day he saw a blue 500 working a lot recently
Was starting to think we might get a break this year! Was told last week of a white r22 shooting deer and leaving them last week also but that doesnt make a lot of sense.Quote:

Saw a chopper flying South along the Tararua's, a couple of days ago.
Had deer hanging below and heading in that direction, as fast as his rotors could take him.
Too far away to ID model or operator.
Didn't see him return, so can't point the finger at a local heli operator - but my suspicions were running hot.

Would hope no-one would be dumb enough to take a shot at a passing chopper but I do know the feeling when you have walked up the hard way. (now I would take the chopper up if I could afford it every time.
Going back to the 70's Dad's chopper mechanic mate used to complain about fixing bullet holes in chppers. And i don't think he meant the tip of the skid.
