Where is it spring?
Hey guys and girls,
My freezer has completely run out of venni (only shot one deer so far this year) and I am in desperate need of a successful hunt. The Mrs is away for Labour weekend so I have a leave card and am keen to get out and tip something over. Question is where is it likely to resemble spring hunting conditions? I am happy to go pretty much anywhere from the Kaimanawas north and happy to fly in. Not looking for a trophy but need high chance of success on meat animal(s). What are your thoughts and suggestions? If the answer is "nowhere, save your leave and wait another month" then so be it, I'll go diving instead.
Lower NI friends could talk me into something further south but I'd probably fly down so you have to hold my hand and lend me a bang stick.
Cheers,
Adam

Get into somwhere lower like whirinaki or uretawa for a walk man. Can give you some spots in the whirinaki to have a crack at.

Awesome cheers for the info guys - Still haven't got a solid plan, more like three or four possible start points. Will probably see what the weather does and go from there.
