Red deer will wallow all year round but most often in the hot months up to the roar.

    Good work Kiwiman

That wallow may hold your roar stag

Keep a good eye on it From a Distance.

If you stomp your scent all around his wallow he might abandon it.

Keep the location to your self too so someone else doesn't bugger it up for you.

If you have a trail camera set that up and see who's visiting.

    Cheers

I never used to believe that red hinds wallowed until the old man accidentally set the trail cam to video and not photo and we got a heap of hinds coming in, rolling around and playing in it. Even got one with a young red stag roaring from the wallow.

So yeh, all year round, not surprised bout the lack of smell this time of year either

Deer will wallow year round to an extent.

Looks like a good spot to focus some attention on VC
I'm drawn to the mountains and the bush, it's where life is clear, where the world makes the most sense.

might know where there is a little one with a paranoid owner
All those with dogs waiting no longer fear death. Those with many dogs waiting even welcome it in it's time.

Some good action at those wallows VC. Chased a stag for two years that hangs around this one, got within 100m this roar, hes going to be a big stag, biggest mark ive seen so far in the bush.
