Your keen! I got Block 5 which is a first for me. Have drawn Block 1 twice before. A change will be nice, but I will be at a disadvantage in terms of knowledge. Seems like it's a buck or a doe this year. Sure I read that somewhere, now can't find it. I hate that website!
I had block 5 about 20 years ago you park right next to the block which is good , good block specially if theres a westerly
yea I think ballot winner can take either or .....and companions default is a doe unless permitted a buck and bucks must have palmation
Hunt the higher ground at the south end of block 5
They love any slight hill off the flat
A big fast bullet beats a little fast bullet every time
I got block 5 but not until the end of September mate got block 1 second week of June so will most likely go with him.
I was reading the rules and my understating this year is permit holder can shoot a buck or doe and only 1 other of the party of 3 can shoot a doe?
I've managed to jag block 1 but not until really late in season, I'm picking they will be well trained by then.
I had Block 1 late last season. Deer were around for sure. There's a few posts that will be helpful if you do a search. We saw animals at dawn/dusk and not much in between. Make sure you get there before gate opening. We arrived at opening time and the gate was already open. I think a 30 minute head start would have made a difference.

DOE permits are the default option this year - if you want a BUCK permit you need to apply for it. Write BUCK on the left of their name on ballot return form. BUCK permits are optional - do nothing if you don’t want a permit for a BUCK.
BUCK permit is not transferable.
Accepting a BUCK permit excludes that person from taking a DOE.
It says 2024, but I hunted there last year and pretty sure it was a doe or a buck for the ballot holder. I wonder if they have the date wrong on the website?
At that time of year the Bucks and Does wont be together. Hunted in there twice before, yet to see anything with antlers.
Biggest concern with it being September is being able to get to the block before sunrise.
I managed to get block 1 also. Have you guys had an email yet? Have just seen my name on the list so far
Congratulations to all those that received a ballot. I hunted a property at top end of south head for the first time this year and couldn’t believe the number of fallow we saw. This property gets planted in grain maize and the fallow absolutely smash it. A colleague that looks after the grain had already been in a couple of times but they would only get 1 or 2 per trip. It was early December by the time we went in and the maize was almost 2 metres tall. We shot and recovered 9 and I’m pretty sure at least another 3 or 4 that I couldn’t find. The fallow kept appearing from the forested areas all day. This makes the rules around 1 animal per party seem pretty miserable?

Well there are 256 ballot winners and if they all managed to take 3 does that would be 768 deer removed from the herd.
