    Worth hunting in western ruahines?

Hi, im still learning, and have done a little hunting in northern santoft with no luck. Am looking at the ruahines as they're close by. I have tramped to purity hut in the past. And am wanting to carry on further to kelly knight hut. Am I even in deer country? Has anyone else been hunting anywhere close to this area?
    Thanks in advance.
    Brad

Once you hop the fence into the bush at the top of the hill on your way to Purity you are in prime hunting country.
Turn left and cross the creek 500 yards or so up the Rangawahia track and its like wise.

    Its all great hunting.

Don't shoot the deer in the Rangi carpark though!
