    1/2*28 unf over barrel suppressor

Just gone and started down the rabbit hope of ar15 ownership.... First thing is going to be a suppressor.

All mine are 1/2*20 which isn't much use. So looking for an over barrel of some description, not sure on measurements as I haven't got my hands on it yet.

Not too worried about brand and as long as it's been used but not abused... What have folks got lying round?

Is there any reason I can't use a suppressor that been designed for a 22lr on an ar15? Obviously it won't be as effective and will heat up quicker but ifthe rifle is being used for hunting rather than playing at the range....

Don't think a .22lr suppressor will handle .223, especially a semi, would guess most of them will split.

There are plenty of reasons. They add up to it being a radically unsafe proposition - you could very possibly injure yourself or others. At the very least you will destroy the .22 suppressor and possibly damage your rifle.

22lr = 24kpsi. .223 = 60kpsi gives an indication of the pressures a rimfire suppressor will likely deal with vs a centrefire suppressor. A simplification, but it works.

Do you need firearms licence to buy parts of trade me still though.... Have avoided this so far!

Would prefer an overbarrel but guess I could make do with muzzle forward.
