10/22 trigger group KIDD Timney or similar

If you have one sitting around? 10/22 trigger group KIDD Timney or similar.

Full original unit only (not an upgrade)

If you’re not going to buy a kidd just get the standard one worked by a gunsmith
From my experience the others are not much of an improvement
Over a standard one that has been worked buy a good gunsmith

Kidd on the other hand is probably the best trigger ive had on any rifle

Timney is not too bad and the Jard also, they seem to be a different mechanism. I have a BX and i't definitely better than the standard but nothing on those two or obviously the Kidd.

Dam... Missed on a Timney and discovered something highly annoying. Jard triggers wont fit a PMACA chassis. Bugger :-(

Agree. I've had both the Timney and the Kidd and there is no comparison, the Timney is an improvement on the BX by some margin, but not even close to a Kidd. I rationalised buying a Kidd by ensuring I will never sell it with a rifle, if I fall out with my 10/22 (unlikely as its shooting as well if not better than my Annie 1416) a standard trigger will go back on. Sold separately I doubt you'd lose money on a Kidd in NZ.

That's good info. I have never tried a Timney but they do look well made. It can be hard to get a Kidd also, so yes I guess they are going to hold a bit more value.

It's only for a hunting rifle so I figure either will do.

If you want a kidd go to
USA Guns Ltd Darin is the nz Agent And great to deal with

I have a kidd rifle actually this is my 2nd one stupidly sold (on the cheap aswell )
Regret was massive for over 5 years till I brought another one earlier this year

The triggers are expensive but not something you sell just keep on the shelf to go on the next 10-22
For a hunting rifle id suggest a single stage (cheaper aswell)
Both mine have been two stage ones (target rifles)
I have no experience with the single stage I know its a slightly heavyer pull than the 2s for safety reasons
But will be crisp as fuck tony kidd doesn’t muck around

X2 for Darin. My Kidd trigger is the single stage version. I don't have the equipment to measure it, but it has a very clean let-off (way better than any of the AR triggers I ever used/tried) and is just about perfect for the positional shooting I've encountered in the 22 PRS matches I've attended and as mentioned, perfect for hunting.
