Thank you for the thought. Hang on to them...........We are into hen's teeth territory. My local has an adequate stock of those but they will not fit my "front stuffers" I must investigate Tasbay's comment re toy caps...

When I'm in CHCH next I will go see what sort of bulk deal I can get
And we can think about finding someone to bring them north ( safely and legally )

It's a shame I would like to come up to the Ruahine arms auction next month
But can't afford what I like in the catalogue
And have just lost a week to illness and likely another one or two before I'm fit to work again !

Here is a page with a size guide to percussion caps.

    https://www.henrykrank.com/blog/how-...ading-gun.html

FYI the $2 dollar shop caps have cup dimensions as follow:

    External diameter: 4.5mm
    External height: 4mm
    Internal diameter: 3.5mm (0.14")
Depth from front of rim to charge: ~2mm.

I note they have a useful rim to help pull them off the nipple.

If Wayne has inherited the two sheds full of stuff that Neil had then he probably has several of everything.
oops, Neil hasn't passed just the business is finished, not sure where the stock/firearms went but it was a treasure trove.

Good, I ammend my comment to Neil is an interesting character to talk to. And yes his place is/was a glory hole. I shall try and find out what happened to his stock.
Might be time to sell another kidney.

Thank you BSA, but looking at my Italian "front stuffer" I think that one may take #10 caps. Will check that today and if so then as #10's are available here in WG I would have enough #11's for the English.
I've also ordered some of the red plastic "pop gun" to experiment with.

Neil is still alive he sent me an email not long ago. He is very elderly though and I have been expecting him to wind up the business for a while now. His offsider passed away though.

I have some percussion caps, I don't know what size they are, (I think they are described as musket caps - is that too big?) I used to use them on a Zouave rifle. They are in black round plastic tubs with a red lable. I will look when I get home.

I think it's pretty much all sold. I got sent a list a few weeks back, and most of it was sold.
Very little left, I think it would be all sold now.

I find these work well on most of my Caplocks as long as using Black powder ( have never tried substitutes). Make sure you have a pin or needle on you somewhere as sometimes a small plastic plug gets stuck in the nipple of the gun. If you don`t get consistent ignition , pull the white disk out of the back of the cap ( the priming compound is under this) and place a few granules of black powder inside the cap then push the dist back in. That ups the charge some and seems to sort the more difficult to fire guns like My Zoil Zauave.
Called into GC today because I saw they had #11 caps a few weeks ago. Someone from the coast had been in bought them out. Fella had a look at country wide stock and there is about 15 tins left with no delivery date on new stock.
Pleased I have a flintlock as well as I can still find Rocks!!!

If you have a couple of spare #11 Nipples sacrifice one and stick it in a drill and turn it down with a file to fit the #10 caps. You can always make a nipple smaller its hard to go the other way, same as horse shoes.

Neil has been unwell with an old age illness that affects the unlucky, be kind at this time, go see Wayne, my cousin, in Upper Hutt
    Boom, cough,cough,cough
