    Can I borrow your .710 ball end milling cutter then @MSL

    I had a try at a .510 ball mold last week and it ended up with a wider equator and slightly flat poles
    But you learn from wrecking things like that

    Split mould, just skim the faces down.

    @muzza
    Lee seem to stop at 62 cal / 20 gauge balls

    Brown bess and breech loading balls are a bit large for patch and ball muzzleloaders

    jim160 is supplying 12 gauge balls to me and has a source of more. Mention of 10kg and above was made.

    I just had a 73.5 done for my bess, looks good but I have yet to use it. It took about 2 weeks to get here from England which I thought was good. Around $100 if I recall correctly. Was 33 pounds plus freight.

    I'm just about to make an order with them for a 52 cal mold and 2 for another forum member
    So might get the 12 gauge correct size for my smooth bore

    Would have preferred to at least try a couple first as a proof of concept

    Bear in mind they don't come with handles, but Lee/Lyman style handles fit. Also they are a pretty basic mould without sprue cutter, but the machining quality seems good.
