    135gr 6.5mm berger hunter classics.

Looking for some of these. Not keen on dropping $120~ on a big packet then have them not shoot well.
    Cheers

Only seen 130vlds but based on the speeds I was getting from the 140ssts I may even go down to the 130s

@kiwigreg I am basically looking for a one bullet to do all and figured as you know a thing or two I would ask you. Come down to 135gr berger CH or 129gr LRABs or 130gr ABs for a bullet that I can rely on to perform from 0-500m. 18" barrel 260 with LA mag and bolt stop

I would look at the 143 ELDX, you still should be able to push it along if you have a long enough throat.

Cutting barrels short is always a compromise, especially if you might want to stretch its legs from time to time

Yeah I bought it 2nd hand but figured an 18" barrel with reasonable speed and a projectile with great BC 500m is not too unreasonable. Tbh majority of my hunting is in the bush however would hate to be caught out like I have been in the past with my old 308 bush pig. 143gr ELD-X was the top of my list but would hate to pencil through an animal at 10m because I loaded up an excellent LR pill for bush bashing

Bullets are seated at 2.87" with more room to move I believe so can seat pills out nicely

Don't over think it, 143 ELD-X will do it all. I doubt it'll pencil at 10m unless you squeeze it between the ribs, in and out. And buy some W760 to get them moving along.
